Vinci Park Sponsor Freewheel and Bike Doctor Projects

ImageVinci Park is sponsoring Dacorum’s Freewheek project run by Celia Ellis. They arranged a presentation on Bicycle Safety, Cycle Proficiency and Bicycle Maintenance that was given to years 4, 5 & 6 at Barncroft School in Grove Hill.

In addition they have sponsored a Drawing and Painting competition for junior schools in Grove Hill and Woodhall Farm to create a Logo for the Freewheel Project. The winners of age groups 7 to 8 and 9 to 11 both won a new mountain bike.

What can your business do
  • Giving a Gift
Consider the product or service that your company provides and then try to link that to a local charity. Alternatively offer your redundant equipment or furniture to a good cause. Lastly offer the use of meeting or conference facilities for AGMs etc.
  • Giving Financial Donations
Raise money through sponsorship, event days, social evenings, competitions, etc. Employee and company donations to a charity can be as large or small as is comfortable and are tax free. Dacorum Community Trust will even take over your annual donation workload.
  • Volunteering
Set up and encourage a staff volunteering scheme. This will allow your staff to participate in a vast array of local opportunities, improving their morale and motivation. Volunteering can be in your own time or in company time like the very popular team building challenges. For more indepth information on volunteering contact Heather Allen on 01442 247209 or look at the Vounteer Centre Dacorum web site www.volunteerdacorum.org
  • Employing a Disabled or Disadvantaged Person
Instead of paying advertising and agency costs consider up-skilling an existing employee and employ a disabled or disadvantaged person either full time, part time or on a work experience basis.
  • Becoming a More Environmentally Friendly Company
Recycle your office paper, cardboard and printer cartridges. Adopt a car sharing scheme, be aware of savings to your company and the environment.
  • Offering Technical Support
Be proud of your excellence, offer your expertise in marketing, IT, law, finance, etc to a start up company or local charity.

What can your charity do
  • Send any volunteering or Team Building Challenges direct to Heather Allen at the Volunteer Centre Dacorum.
  • Send any sponsorship requests plus office equipment or furniture requirements to Connect Dacorum.
